For those not in the know, the preferred method of hunting bison, or buffalo, was to get a group of people together and herd them towards a cliff. Once in stampede mode many of the bison didn't stop in time. Gravity then took over and did the killing and injuring for you! messy, but not as risky as cornering them or chasing after them. They didn't need horses to do it this way, either! That's a plus when you aren't a horse-culture, or have never even seen a horse Once the bison were dead everybody could go to work butchering and drying meat...cuz that's a whole lot of meat!

So now that you understand what's going on, here's a clever little guy who's found the solution! hehe! He won't end up in the pemmican! Nosiree!

Para aquellos que no lo saben, el metodo preferido para cazar bisontes (o bufalos), era reunir a un grupo de personas y arrear a la manada hacia un risco. Una vez se desataba la estampida, muchos de los bisontes no frenaban a tiempo. Luego la gravedad hacía toda la matanza por uno. Desordenado, pero no tan arriesgado como arrinconarlos o perseguirlos.
De esta forma, tampoco necesitaban caballos. Eso es un beneficio cuando no eres una de una cultura hípica, o ni siquiera has visto un caballo. Una vez que los bisontes estaban muertos, todos podían empezar a trabajar carneando y secando la carne... porque era mucha carne!

Ahora que entiendes como viene la mano, aquí hay un sujeto listo que encontró la solución! hehe! Él no va a terminar en el pemmican! Nosiree
